Former Pirates defender becomes an aerobics instructor

The former Orlando Pirates defender was forced into early by an ankle injury while playing for SuperSport United.

The former Bafana Bafana defender says he was introduced to aerobics when he was going through rehabilitation for an injury that he never came back from.

“When I was doing rehab trying to recover from the ankle injury, I was busy with aerobics, I liked it, the ankle kept giving me problems and I decided to go back home and start classes. It started small and we gained more members as we went along,” said Thwala in an interview with SABC Sport.

The 36-year-old has no formal qualification to teach aerobics but many people attend his classes in Nelspruit.
