Former Chiefs defender completes Ajax move
Ajax Cape Town have announced the signing of former Bafana Bafana defender Siboniso Gaxa.
Siboniso Gaxa unveiled as a new Ajax Cape Town defender at the club’s Ikamva training grounds in Cape Town.
Gaxa joins the Urban Warriors as a free agent after training with the club for weeks.
The 33-year-old was released by Bidvest Wits at the end of last season following the expiry of his contract, having joined the Students from Kaizer Chiefs.
“I’m delighted to have joined Ajax Cape Town and I am really grateful to head coach Muhsin [Ertugral] and the management for the opportunity to play football again,” Gaxa told the Ajax website.
“I am well aware of the situation the club finds itself in at the moment and I just want to help with my experience, I’ve played professionally for well over a decade and I believe I can contribute on and off the field in assisting this club move up the log standings.
