Former Baroka FC captain joins Spurs

National First Division (NFD) side Witbank Spurs have confirmed the signing of former Baroka captain Olaleng Shaku.


The 29-year-old has joined Siyavutha until the end of the season.

Shaku together with goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke were recently released by Baroka after they were allegedy found guilty of contravening the club’s code of conduct.

The duo and coach Kgoloko Thobejane, who was also sacked by Bakgaga, are said to have drank alcohol in a team bus en route to Polokwane from the Free State last month.

However, Shaku has quickly manage to find himself a new home while Masuluke and Thobejane remain clubless.

Spurs confirmed Shaku’s signing on their official Facebook account on Wednesday.

“Witbank Spurs management and players welcomed the vastly experienced defender at Spurs training grounds today.

“Mr Shaku promises to bring a key ingredient in support of Spurs’ objective to gain promotion to the Premier Soccer League.

“Witbank Spurs Football Club welcomes Mr Olaleng Shaku,” read the club statement.
