Former Baroka coach set for Dikwena position

Former Baroka FC co-coach, Milton Dlamini is set to be unveiled as Platinum Stars’ new assistant coach this week, Phakaaathi has learnt.

A source close to the coach who left Bakgaga under a cloud last month said he had agreed on terms with Dikwena to be Peter Butler’s right hand man.

“He had a few offers because he made a name for himself during his short stay with Baroka where he helped turn things around. Free State Stars were offering him the head coach position but Dikwena came in and stole him with a better offer. He liked the set up at Dikwena because it is more stable than at Stars where coaches are constantly changed,” said the source.

He also revealed that Black Leopards owner, David Thidiela was also eyeing Dlamini in case he ends up losing Jean Pierre Luscuito.

“He is set to finalise his negotiations with Dikwena on Monday afternoon when the team return from Algeria where they had a Caf Confederation Cup match at the weekend,” he added.

Dlamini was suspended at Baroka during the promotion play-offs after he went on a rant accusing the management of unprofessionalism after a venue for a technical meeting he had called was not booked and other members didn’t pitch because they did not “see the emails with the invitations”.

“He likes doing things professionally and he was really upset when his efforts were disregarded at Baroka. He felt undermined and that his skills were being disregarded,” said the source.
