Former Bafana star replaces Mashaba at NFD side

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder, Kagisho Dikgacoi has been roped in as coach at struggling National First Division team Witbank Spurs.

Siyavutha – as Spurs are known – fired former Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba last week following a string of poor result.

Club owner, Themba Mafu was in charge last weekend when the side received a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Ajax Cape Town and has since decided to hand the reigns over to Dikgacoi.

A source close to Spurs confirmed to Phakaaathi that Dikgacoi has already arrived in Witbank.

“He has arrived in Witbank and will start training the team as soon as possible. We have four games left and we are doing everything to ensure the team survives relegation.” said the source.

Dikgacoi had a short stint at Royal Eagles when the late Roger Sikhakhane fell sick but was later released.

Spurs has since confirmed Dikgacoi’s arrival on their official Facebook account on Wednesday.

“Welcome KG Dikgacoi to Witbank Spurs as our new head coach,” posted Siyavutha.
