- Patrick Tignyemb’s socks
Bloemfontein Celtic goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb couldn’t help his side keep a clean sheet against Maritzburg United on Sunday afternoon. Tignyemb says having to change his socks three times before the start of the game shifted his focus from the game. Tignyemb reacted late to a long ball played towards his goal area which found the back of the net.
- Chiefs win third game
Kaizer Chiefs have turned the corner after winning their third league game against AmaZulu over the weekend. Amakhosi beat Usuthu 2-0 at the FNB stadium on Saturday.
- SuperSport warming up for MTN 8 final
SuperSport United compounded Black Leopards’ woes by scoring four times at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday afternoon five days before they are scheduled to meet Cape Town City in the MTN8 final. United played to a 4-0 win against Leopards.
- Orlando Pirates leading the league table
The Soweto giants continued their dominance in league games recording a 2-1 win over Baroka FC on Saturday. The win saw Pirates top the league table with a one-point lead over Bidvest Wits.
- Free State Stars takes the pressure off Luc Eymael
The Ea Lla Koto mentor bought himself time by beating Highlands Park at Globe Park. Eymael hinted at leaving Stars after his side lost to Kaizer Chiefs in a midweek game. But the latest win from Ea Lla Koto put them in tenth place on the league table.
