The Belgian born striker helped his side go through to the last 16 round of the Nedbank Cup scoring twice in their 3-1 win against Swallows FC this past weekend, taking his goal tally to four in all competitions with 10 appearances to his name.
“The coach (Fadlu Davids) has been giving me game-time which has been great for me because when you don’t play for such a long time, it is not easy, you just want to be on the field,” the 26-year-old told the club’s website.
“I’m feeling stronger and the confidence is coming back. For strikers, it’s important to have that confidence. It’s my job to score goals, so I need to be at my best and on top of my game.
“With more game-time, I’ll soon be 100 percent fit. I still feel like I’m at 70, 75 percent fitness,” he explained. “This was (the Swallows match) only my third game that I started. The last time I played three, four games in a row, it was three years ago, with Free State Stars.”
The Team of Choice are sixth on the log standings with 28 points after 20 points, and the striker believes they are on a good track to finish the season on top eight.
“Yes, I think we’re doing well. We are on track to finish in the top eight, the top seven, or higher. We also want to reach a cup final, and with the win over Swallows, we are still on track; a long way to go, but who knows with a bit of luck.”
