Fagrie Lakay completes City move

Cape Town City have announced the signing of former Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United striker Fagrie Lakay.

The 22-year-old joins the Citizens as a free agent after being released by Wits recently along with Robyn Johannes and Prince Nxumalo.

Lakay started his professional career at Santos in 2012.

After spending three years with the People’s team, he joined SuperSport but struggled to cement his place in the team and was often sent out on loan to the likes of Ajax Cape Town and Wits.

He spent the last six months of last season at the Students on loan from SuperSport. Wits took up the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season, but released him again.
