Eymael praises Orlando Pirates reject

Phungwayo joined Stars at the beginning of the season from Orlando Pirates after he was deemed surplus to requirements at the Mayfair-based side.

The 30-year-old has been a key player for Eymael in the club’s fairy tale season.

“I think he has his confidence back and that is why he has been playing so well,” Eymael told Vodacom Soccer.

“He is a very good player who works hard all time and all that he needed was to play regularly to get his confidence back.

“He is very experienced and is one of the senior players in our team.

“He listens to instructions from the coaches and leads by example on the field of play.”
