Damon, who officiated at the 2010 Fifa World Cup, worked as a teacher at Bridgetown High School while officiating on part time basis.
The Cape Town based former teacher will train referees on Video Assistant Referee (VAR) across Africa which will be used in June at the Africa Cup pf Nations.
“So tomorrow (15/04/2019) closes a long and beautiful chapter at Bridgetown High for me. Many many educators, learners, parents and families have impacted and shaped my life. I have loved every minute of it. I have no regrets,” wrote Damon.
“I have made life-long friends whom have become family in the staffroom. I will miss being in class formally but will enjoy still impacting and shaping lives where I can as I will still walk the corridors of BHS on a temporary basis.
“My days hereafter will be devoted to developing match officials around Africa and the World. I change from WCED to FIFA but my core still remains the same: God at its centre. So the journey continues… come journey with me,” he added.
Damon is set to go to Poland next month for the Under-20 World Cup and then go to the Afcon in Egypt later in the month.
