Ex-Pirates star in club search

Former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits crowd favourite Sifiso Myeni says he has not given up on playing football.

The 31-year-old has been without a club since he was released by the Clever Boys at the end of last season following an unsuccessful loan stint at SuperSport United.

Myeni trained with Highlands Park during the pre-season but didn’t do enough to impress the decision makers at the Lions of the North.

“If God gave you the talent, only God can take it away from you and no one else,” Myeni told the DailySun.

“Football is my thing. I love playing football. I know I can still give more. I won’t mind even playing in the NFD (GladAfrica Championship). Sadly in South Africa, once you have hit the 30s age mark, people write you off and it is a bit difficult to get a club.

“That is something I cannot control. But my agent is working on something to get me a club.”
