Ex-Celtic goalkeeper Tignyemb joins Chippa

The 34-year-old has confirmed that he will be a Chilli Boy next season.

Former Bloemfontein Celtic captain and goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb has joined Chippa United.

Tignyemb’s contract was terminated by Celtic last month after he allegedly confronted the club management about players’ bonuses and salaries.

The 34-year-old has confirmed that he will be a Chilli Boy next season.

“I am not going to be part of Celtic next season. I have signed for Chippa United‚” Tignyemb told TimesLIVE.

Tignyemb pleaded with the Siwelele fans to release him from their hearts.

“I want the Celtic fans to release me from their hearts.

“I want their blessings… to do my job properly at my next club.

“I belong to Bloemfontein‚ I am from Bloemfontein. Just allow me to go‚” added Tignyemb.

Tignyemb joined Phunya Sele Sele from Cotonsport in 2008.
