There has been rumours that Baxter will be asked to vacate his position following Bafana’s exit from the Afcon.
Bafana crashed out of the tournament after losing 2-1 to Nigeria in the quarter-finals on Wednesday night.
Rabutla has urged the South African Football Association (Safa) and fans to be patient with Baxter.
“We have to give him a chance, he is a coach who knows his story he is still developing and we need to stop changing coaches let’s give this guy a chance until 2022,” Rabutla told LimSportsZone.
The poor performance by Bafana in the Afcon has led to some sections of the football fraternity to call for Baxter’s sacking.
