A win for Benghazi will see the Group A teams taking it to the last games of this phase to determine which two teams will advance to the last eight of the competition.

Enyimba and Benghazi meet in Libya on Thursday after the game was postponed with the initial date being Wednesday, 21 April 2021.

As it stands, Pirates are at the summit of the table with nine points, while the Nigerians, Enyimba, are in second place with six points. Setif are in third place with five points, whereas Benghazi are last in the group with four points.

While a win for Benghazi puts Pirates in danger, victory for Enyimba will guarantee the Soweto giants qualification to the knockout stages along with the Nigerian outfit with two top teams in the group advancing to the next stage.

The Setif coach acknowledges that they came up against a strong side in Bucs and reveals that his team was facing some difficulties hence they were not on their best.

“We played a very difficult game, but difficult because we have been playing after every three days at league level (domestic league) and secondly because we met a very good team and the third thing is that our players are fasting since we are on a period of Ramadan and they suffer a lot from hydration. In regards to my impressions about the game. I think in the first half we did not have many opportunities, however, we rectified that in the second half,” said the Setif coach.

“We tried to get our placements correctly, we made one or two changes and we saw some positive effects with about 10 opportunities which might allow us to win this game. We have a draw, now we will have to wait and see what happens in the game against Enyimba and Al-Ahly Benghazi.”
