Eagles snap up former Chiefs winger

Royal Eagles coach Kosta Papic has confirmed that the club has signed former Kaizer Chiefs winger Sula Matovu.

The Ugandan winger, who was released by Chiefs last season after being deemed surplus to requirements, has been training with Eagles for a week and did enough to convince the club to sign him.

“He [Matovu] signed a contract and he’s now working on getting his work permit and we are working on his ITC,” Papic told reporters after his side’s 2-1 loss to SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup last-32 on Wednesday night.

Matovu becomes the latest player to be signed by the NFD promotion chasing side after they added former Orlando Pirates midfielder Isaac Chansa last week.

Both players are waiting for their work permits.
