With six goals in 12 matches to his credit, Keagan Dolly has really proved to be the man Kaizer Chiefs can rely on in the absence of top striker Samir Nurkovic.

Nurkovic is out with a long term injury while another striker Leonardo Castro has also just returned from injury and getting to full fitness. Another player who chipped in with goals for Amakhosi in the past few seasons, Lebogang Manyama is also struggling with injuries.

But with Dolly hitting the ground running carrying the team so far, their absence has not been too big an issue for Stuart Baxter’s side. The goal the 28-year-old scored against Chippa last month earned him the Goal of the Month gong

“First of all, I’d like to thank the supporters and everyone who voted for me for the Goal of the Month (award),” said Dolly when announced as the winner.

“I’m happy to be getting these awards and it’s always a boost in confidence when you get such recognition.

“But I feel there have been a lot of good goals and anyone could have won it. Hopefully I can continue scoring goals for the team and help win and focus on our journey as a club.”
