Doctor Khumalo explains his role at Baroka

Following Khumalo’s appointment as the club’s technical director in August, rumours have come out suggesting that Khumalo is the reason why Bakgaga look different to a side that was fighting to stay clear of relegation last season.

Khumalo, however, insists that Thobejane is in charge of the team.

“I’m involved in the planning – the monthly planning in terms of training sessions. But when it comes to team selections obviously I’m not on the bench so I’m not involved in that,” Khumalo told The Sowetan.

“We discuss matches as the entire technical team ahead of every game. But what is good (about our relationship as the technical team) is that we sit as the technical team and discuss things.”
