Dikwena to keep fighting

Despite the odds stuck against Platinum Stars, assistant coach Milton Dlamini says giving up is not an option.

“We are disappointed but we can’t stop fighting,” said Dlamini after witnessing Dikwena play to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Baroka FC at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Wednesday night.

Dlamini, who was in charge owing to Roger De Sa’s suspension, says bottom based Dikwena need not to throw in the towel.

“We must live to see the next game. We are going to try our best and score goals. We wanted to score on Wednesday night. We created chances but the ball didn’t go in. We can’t press panic buttons. Otherwise we must stop playing altogether. It’s a little bit of a setback but we have Polokwane City on Saturday to sort things out for ourselves. It’s still mathematically possible so we are not going to give up. We are still going to play. We have got five more games left,” said Dlamini.

Once again Dikwena were left to curse as goals denied in a match where they were ahead of the opponents. Dlamini says it’s not time to point fingers as they plan to continue creating chances.

“The plan was right. We will keep on working on it. We can’t point fingers. We tried but it never came right. We put opponents under pressure. We created chances and set pieces but if you don’t score you are not going to win a game. That’s the reality part of football as sad as it is,” said Dlamini.

Dikwena will be looking to right their wrongs when they host Polokwane City at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace this coming Saturday night. Dlamini says De Sa’s men will go all out in search of maximum points.

“You must look at the positives. There were a lot of positives. We hope to build on the positives. We just have to keep positive till the last game. Polokwane City, that’s a game we have to win. We are going to create chances and hopefully with the Lord behind us, one of the chances will get inside the net,” said Dlamini.
