The veteran trio formed an integral part of the Dikwena over the years, and their release has come as a surprise.
Stars have not given any reason why they let these players go except to confirm their contracts were not renewed.
“Platinum Stars can confirm that the club has not renewed contracts of players Tintswalo Tshabalala, Solomon Mathe and Ndumiso Mabena.
“All three players had their contracts ending last month. The club then took a decision not to renew their contracts. We wish them well in their future endeavours,” read a statement on the club’s Facebook account.
Mabena has already been linked with a move to the Soweto Giants, but it is still anybody’s guess where Tshabalala and Mathe will be playing their football next season.
Meanwhile, club captain Vuyo Mere has bid farewell to the departing trio, saying life will never be the same at Dikwena without them.
