Radebe is said to be interested in running for the Safa presidency, but has so far met resistance from the Football Transformation Forum, who claims that he doesn’t qualify to be a candidate for the March 24 Safa elections because he is not serving in any Safa structures.

“South African football needs change. In order to see that change we will need to start at the top by having the right president for the association. Danny (Jordaan) should have left a long time ago. It is long overdue,” Radebe was quoted as saying by the Daily Sun.
“In that position we want a person who will bring progress and credibility.

“This is not about competition, liking or disliking anybody, it is about trying to work together to improve the game of football. We played the game and retired so that others could take over, it should be the same up there.
“It is not about positions or power but about doing what is right. It is important that our generation makes a contribution through football,” concluded Radebe.
