Ferguson, who has laid a rape charge against the Safa president, believes Jordaan could be a victim of abuse himself and is in need of therapy to get rid of what she calls a “sickness”.
The singer says she would have preferred to sit down with the Safa president and for him to acknowledge his wrong doing.
“It has been a difficult journey, Jordaan is a simple example of a leadership that has been contaminated. My initial intent was to be able to meet each other with mercy and take ownership of what happened. Danny and I… both being ANC member surely we should be able to meet each other as human beings without putting it under a carpet and acknowledge an offence was committed, acknowledge there is wounds on both sides, because a man who is doing that kind of thing is a wounded man,” said Ferguson in an interview with eNCA.
Ferguson says she has not closed the door for a restorative justice to Jordaan.
