Dancing fans inspire Fillecia to score goals
Maritzburg United striker Andrea Fileccia has revealed that celebrating with fans after the match is what motivated him to play football.

The Belgian joined the Team of Choice fans in celebration after he had scored a brace as they beat embattled Platinum Stars 2-1 last weekend.
“This is why I wanted to play football from when I was very young, to have those moments. During the week, you have to train every day, go to the gym, to the physio… at the end of a match, that’s the reward you get,” said Fileccia.
Fileccia has been in sterling form and has ensured the team do not feel any regret for letting Evans Rusike leave for SuperSport United in January as he has filled his space with aplomb.
And Maritzburg coach Fadlu Davids is happy about the Belgian striker’s progress and said he doesn’t want to rush him as he is still getting back to his full fitness.
“When Andrea signed we knew he came with a very bad injury, so it was about managing him. Under Ernst he came back, but then he tore his quad.
“So it’s about not rushing him, it’s about building up game minutes. It’s my responsibility to see a player does not come back and play too much too soon and get injured. It was about waiting, working, he has a fantastic work ethic and I’m happy he’s getting goals now,” said Davids.
