New Baroka FC coach Dan Malesela has enjoyed a good start as Bakgaga mentor, with the experienced coach unbeaten in five games since he joined the club.

Baroka appointed Malesela early in October after the club’s dismal start in the Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) under Stanford Nkoane. Bakgaga registered only three points in the opening five matches of the season under Nkoane.
Malesela has since brought in some positivity into the club’s campaign as they aim for a quick return to the DStv Premiership.
In his first five matches in charge of Bakgaga, Malesela has won three and drawn two, collecting 11 points in the process. Baroka won against Milford FC and registered victories in the two Limpopo derbies against Black Leopards and Venda Football Academy (VFA), while playing the two draws against Upington City FC and Marumo Gallants.
Their latest positive results have pushed them to sixth spot on the league standings with 14 points after 10 matches – a great improvement for the club which was lying at the bottom half of the log a month ago.
Baroka are now just eight points behind log leaders Orbit College FC.
Malesela and his troops have seven fixtures before the Christmas break, where they will be hoping to climb up higher on the log.
Bakgaga will next face Hungry Lions at home on Saturday, before going on meet up with Orbit College on 11 November.
Those games will be followed by clashes against MM Platinum (La Masia), Pretoria Callies, University of Pretoria, Milford and they will end the year with a clash against Maritzburg United on 19 December.
