Ramagalela is set to join Highlands when his deal with City expires at the end of the season after signing a pre-contract with the Lion of the North.
Reports suggest Ramagalela was sidelined by Rise and Shine after refusing to sign a new contract with the Polokwane side.
Da Gama says he is not worried that Ramagalela will be unfit when he joins the Tembisa-based outfit in June.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor says he hopes the striker will be given a chance to play again before the end of his contract.
“Rama G is a very good player. He doesn’t smoke and drink – a very dedicated and professional striker. I’ve worked with him in Venda and I believe he will join us in good shape,” said Da Gama. “Unfortunately we have teams that believe in destroying players because he signed a pre-contract with another club, which is not good at all. We hope they will sort out those issues and play him and, if they don’t, I believe in Ramagalela. He will be fit.”
