Da Gama asks media not to write lies
Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama insists that there is no team in the Absa Premiership that has bigger team spirit than the Lions of the North.

Da Gama was responding to reports that suggested that there was a rift between him and defender Bevan Fransman who joined the team at the start of the season.
“There are newspapers that reported that there was a fight between Bevan and I. I swear on the life of my mother, there is no team that has bigger team spirit than this team. Go fetch Bevan and ask him, I love Bevan with all my heart,” Da Gama told reporters.
“I just appeal to you guys, don’t write lies, everybody in this team could see that was total lies.
“So guys we respect the media, there is no football without you guys but please don’t write lies, this has happened in my life before. There is so much love in this team it is amazing.”
The Lion of the North mentor explained why Fransman lost his place in the team’s starting XI.
“You got to understand that Bevan came in late, then he had an injury and he was out.
“Then we brought him in against Pirates and he was struggling with his hamstring, then we got Sibanda and he got man of the match. But we now see Bevan can play in central defence and not only in the sweeping position,” explained Da Gama.
