Igugu leKapa were awarded a win and three points and have thus moved away from the relegation zone while Ezenkosi’s chances of finishing in a playoffs position were slashed.
According to a statement issued by the Premier Soccer League yesterday, Igugu leKapa were awarded a walk-over.
“The Disciplinary Committee found Jomo Cosmos FC guilty of failing to fulfil their NFD fixture against Cape Town All Stars FC scheduled for 31 March 2017. The match was accordingly awarded to Cape Town All Stars with a 3-0 goal difference,” read the statement in part.
Ezenkosi were also fined R50 000 which was suspended for a year but will have to fork out for the costs of DC sitting. They were however acquitted on the the complaint by Mthatha Bucks.
Amatholámnyama had accused Ezenkosi of not having a full complementary of Under 23 players on their match on February 11. The complaint was dismissed and Bucks will be held liable to settle the DC sitting costs.
Meanwhile, with three matches to go, NFD action is bound to be more exciting as teams scramble for a promotion play0ffs position finish while others to avoid relegation.
