Chippa United announce player departure

Both players didn’t feature in any of the team’s matches in the first half of the 2016/2017 season, making it clear that coach Dan Malesela has no use for them in his squad.

Mtsweni joined United from Kaizer Chiefs after he found it difficult to break into the first team. He was used as a substitute under Stuart Baxter’s rein at Amakhosi before sustaining a long-term injury that kept him on the bench.

“Goalkeeper Ayanda Masiko and defender Simphiwe Mtsweni both found it difficult to break in to the first team,” the club said in a statement. “The club would like to thank the players for their professionalism and wish them all the best in their endeavours in life.”
