Chippa target Galaxy scalp as they seek to escape relegation

Chippa United coach Lehlohonolo Seema says his charges know exactly what they need to do in their remaining games of the season.

The former Bloemfontein celtic and Orlando Pirates defender said this ahead of their DStv Premiership relegation battle against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

Seema believes Chippa’s victory against Richards Bay FC in their previous game will give his players an added boost going to the Rockets clash.

The Chili Boys bounced back from 2-0 down to end up winning the tie 3-2 at King Zwelithini Stadium last weekend.

“The guys worked hard, and they deserved to win that game because they had to dig very deep. I allowed them to celebrate that victory. Unfortunately it was only for that night because the following day we were already looking ahead to our next opponents because we know exactly where we are and we are not yet out of the woods,” said Seema.

The Chilli Boys are currently in 15th spot on the log table, having collected 29 points in 28 games. They are level on points with 14th placed Marumo Gallants, who have played a game more.

Seema understands the position his club finds themselves in. However, he says at this stage of the season it is all about getting maximum points from the games they are left with.

“We are just looking at ourselves and making sure that we try to get maximum points. Because we know that every game that we are going to win, we won’t be busy making calls to find out how other teams have played. We just have to focus and get three points. But it’s going to be a difficult game. TS Galaxy is one of the hard teams to beat, especially when they play at home,” he added.
