Chippa United have signed former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates development midfielder Tumiso Mogakwe following a trial at the club.
Mogakwe, whose nickname is Mastermind, spent three years with the Downs development under the guidance of Dan Malesela who was back then in charge of the reserve team at the Pretoria side.
“Signing for Chippa is an honour for me,” the 25-year old midfielder told Phakaaathi.
“To be given a chance to showcase my talent at top level is a dream come true for me. I want to help the club do well and be part of the history by winning trophies.
“I am thankful to coach Malesela and Zipho Dlangalala (assistant coach) for giving me this chance, I have worked with them before and I know what they want from a player.”
The midfielder, who hails from the Bekkersdal in West Rand, Johannesburg, the same location where Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein comes from, has also spent some time with Ajax Cape Town before, but he couldn’t secure a contract.
