Lucas Ribeiro
A strong contender for the PSL Footballer of the Season award, Lucas Ribeiro is expected to be one of the first names on Miguel Cardoso’s team sheet. He was instrumental in the first league clash with Chiefs, scoring a goal and providing an assist. Ribeiro also netted the decisive goal in their most recent league encounter. By his own admission, he lives for the big occasion and very rarely has an off day when the stakes are high.
Ronwen Williams
Whenever Sundowns are under the cosh, they can always count on Williams to save them. On his day, the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year is virtually unbeatable. Over the years, he has played a crucial role in helping Sundowns get over the line in tough matches. With Themba Zwane unavailable, Williams wears the captain’s armband and his leadership will be vital for Sundowns on Sunday.
Gaston Sirino
Kaizer Chiefs look more dangerous with Sirino in the side, and facing his former club adds extra motivation for the midfielder. He brings much-needed creativity to the centre of the pitch. Although his season has been disrupted by injuries, he remains a serious threat when fully fit. To keep him quiet, Sundowns will need to limit his space and prevent him from linking up with the likes of Makabi Lilepo, Pule Mmodi and Mduduzi Shabalala.

Glody Lilepo
Despite scoring just two goals in 10 league appearances, the DRC striker has shown flashes of his quality since joining the Naturena-based side in January. He’s still searching for his first Nedbank Cup goal, but he did give Sundowns defender Lucas Suárez a difficult time in the last league meeting between the two teams. Chiefs will be hoping Lilepo can unlock Sundowns’ experienced backline.
