Chiefs, Sundowns legend predicts a draw

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender David Kannemeyer foresees a draw in tonight's clash between the league rivals.

Masandawana host Amakhosi at the Loftus Stadium in an Absa Premiership match.

Kannemeyer played for Chiefs between 2001 and 2004, before trading the gold and black for the Brazilians’ colours in 2004, where he played until 2008.

“This is going to be a difficult one but I will go for a draw,” he told Phakaaathi.

Kannemeyer says the rivalry between Steve Komphela and Pitso Mosimane must receive less illumination as there is only much they can do ahead of tonight’s clash.

“The players need to come to the party. We can talk about the coaches all we want, but it is a crucial stage of the season and I don’t think the that the coaches can motivate them, they need to motivate themselves.

“We as legends can say what we want to but at the end of the day it is up to the players,” he added.
