Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez has apologised for snubbing head coach Giovanni Solinas after being substituted in a Macufe Cup fixture last Sunday.
The Venezuelan striker appeared unhappy when he was replaced by Benard Parker in the 65th minute of Amakhosi’s 2-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium.
He was caught by TV cameras appearing to ignore Solinas who attempted to shake this hand as he left the field.

“There was no bad intent on my part as I have a great relationship with the coach. It was a case of misunderstanding,” Paez told his club’s website.
“I admit that it looked bad and for that reason, I apologise sincerely to the chairman, the club, my team-mates, sponsors, supporters, and all the stakeholders for this unfortunate incident.”
Chiefs confirmed that they had taken “necessary internal steps to ensure that the matter is put to bed”.
