Chiefs players want to win Nedbank Cup – Middendorp

Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is expecting a tough clash against Chippa United this evening.

Amakhosi are set to play the Chilli Boys in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth today.

“It promises to be a tough match,” Middendorp told the club’s website. “They beat top sides like Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits to reach this stage, which shows that they’re a good side.

“They also have good players in Thabo Rakgale, Mark Manyambela and Kurt Lentjies, to name a few.”

The German coach is happy with the mood in the camp ahead of tonight’s clash.

“It is very interesting to see the mood in the camp.

“Usually you find players looking tense before an important game, but I am happy to see that they all look at ease and in good spirit.”

“We have seen in the previous three rounds that there was always that will to advance to the next stage. And I see this now again, they really want to win,” he added.

Kickoff for this much-anticipated cup encounter will be at 8.15pm.
