Chiefs players need to fight for the badge – Rooi

The Sharpeville-born former footballer revealed that in his playing days at Chiefs, players spent time together and exchange notes on what they how the club should improve.

“You need to remember your family, the family of your teammate, the families watching from the stands and at home, people that love the club with all their hearts, that who you should put first,” Rooi told Phakaaathi.

“Players need to forget who they are or where they have played or what they have achieved in their careers, forget about your experience, you need to listen to the other guy who has less experience.

“That kills a lot of teams. I think not just Chiefs, you think you know more than your teammate, if they push that aside and focus on the team and use representing their families as a motivation, they could be at their best.”
