Chiefs look to keep unbeaten record

Kaizer Chiefs will look to continue their unbeaten run when they face Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth tonight.

Amakhosi are unbeaten for five league games, but they have only registered one win, with the other four ending in draws.

Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is confident that his team will score goals tonight.

“We worked hard on finishing and with a bit more composure in the box, I am confident that we will beat Chippa,” Komphela told the club’s website.

“Make no mistake, Chippa are dangerous. They have lethal players and their build-up play is something to look out for. In our previous encounters they didn’t allow us to build-up from the back and they were very robust in their play. We are bringing our A-game tonight.

“Of course, Chippa have proven to be a hard nut to crack this season,” the Chiefs coach continued. “The game will be interesting to watch, that’s for sure. The atmosphere will be fantastic as always, with an enthusiastic crowd at the stadium. I am hopeful that with the positive energy flowing from the stands that the players will respond accordingly by scoring goals.”

Komphela also revealed that Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko had not been added in the match day squad because they were not match fit.

“Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko are working their way back to full match fitness,” explained Komphela

“Ryan Moon and Tsepo Masilela are still recovering respectively from a jaw and ankle injury,” concluded the Chiefs coach.
