Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Collins Mbesuma has given his former side a game plan as to how they can beat Mamelodi Sundowns in Sunday’s Nedbank Cup semifinal.

Mbesuma – Chiefs ‘have the talent’
“I know Sundowns have been dominating and doing well, but I believe that anything can happen in a cup game,” Mbesuma told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
“And Chiefs can turn their season around with a win. They need to approach the match with a cup game mindset and a determination to come out victorious.”
“I’m confident that they have the talent to go out there and make a statement. It’s time for them to step up and show what they’re capable of,” he added.
“Playing against Sundowns was one of my exciting moments because we always wanted to prove a point. The current team must adopt a similar approach to what we had… just give it their all and leave everything on the field.”
Amakhosi’s last chance
The Nedbank Cup represents the last chance for Amakhosi to avoid going a decade without a single piece of Premier Soccer League era.
Mbesuma, who later also played for Sundowns, represented Chiefs in a golden season for the club, where they won the 2004/5 Premiership title and the 2004 Telkom Knockout.

The Zambian famously scored a hat-trick in a 4-3 Premiership win at Sundowns, part of a 19-game unbeaten run for Chiefs that helped them lift the league title.
