Chiefs issue injury update ahead of Sundowns clash

The Kaizer Chiefs medical team has its work cut out for it having to rehabilitate no less than seven players who are suffering from various injuries.

Coach Steve Komphela will be without the services of his trusted striker Gustavo Páez and full-back Kgotso Moleko when Amakhosi take on Mamelodi Sundowns next Tuesday.

Paez sustained an ankle injury during the Baroka FC game before the international break, while Moleko is expected to be out for six to eight weeks with a knee ligament injury he got during the Macufe Cup win against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Defenders Lorenzo Gordinho and Teenage Hadebe are still nursing their respective injuries. Gordinho is recovering from broken ribs and Hadebe is out with an ankle injury.

Hadebe hasn’t played a single game for Amakhosi and is set to start light training in about two weeks.
