Chiefs duo join Swallows

Both Shopane and Rorwana joined Swallows last week for training after the two teams agreed on terms for the players to move to the second division side.

Swallows are set to kick-off their campaign in the second tier of South African football after they bought the status of Maccabi C.

The Dube Birds returned to the second division from the ABC Motsepe league where they campaign for two seasons after being relegated from the National First Division.

Swallows will look to rope in experienced players from the Absa Premier league for the first season in the second division before the transfer window closes.

“Chiefs duo move to Maccabi (Swallows). Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the move of the duo of Ayanda Rorwana and Itumeleng Shopane to Maccabi FC (Moroka Swallows FC),” read a statement from Chiefs.

“Rorwana, 21, and Shopane, 22, joined the National First Division side last week for training.”
