Chiefs deserved more, claims Middendorp

Amakhosi were held to a 1-1 draw by Rise and Shine at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Chiefs took the lead in the 15th minute from the penalty spot by Daniel Cardoso but City equalised five minutes later through a long range effort from Walter Musona.

“We had a wonderful effective start, 1-0 and I think there were other two moments and a penalty coming through. We had opportunities inside the box but we got a little bit disturbed,” Middendorp told SuperSport TV.

“After we conceded at 1-1, in the next 15 minutes but then in the closing minutes we pushed again.

“In the second half, you can see, you get long balls kicked over 50 meters and you have to start again. You get kicked 50 meter balls, you have to start again. I think that’s the story of the second half, we have not been able (to go through) against a block of seven or eight players around the box to keep calm and do the right stuff.

“We had half opportunities, with headers here inside the box but good goalkeeping on the other end and you end up with 1-1. I think that’s definitely not reflecting the game,” he added.

Chiefs’ mext league game is against Highlands Park next Saturday.
