Chiefs deny interest in Pienaar and Claasen

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has dismissed reports that the club is looking to sign Steven Pienaar and Daylon Claasen.

Media reports have suggested that Amakhosi are keen to sign the former Bafana Bafana players.

“Who said we that these players? If you say it’s (Steve) Komphela then it is better you ask him,” Motaung is quoted as saying by Isolezwe.

“Here at Chiefs we have a way of doing things. We will announce on our official website or social media platforms if we have signed anyone. I urge you guys to be patient. When we are done with all the signings, we will call a press conference,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Motaung confirmed that the club is monitoring the market with a view to signing players ahead of next season.

“As a big team, I think it makes sense that we’re monitoring the market at this time of the season,” commented Motaung.
