Chiefs coach warns Kambole over tactical discussion

Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says striker Lazalous Kambole needs to communicate with the club’s technical team instead of speaking to reporters about which position he would like the coach to field him in.

Kambole was giving his assessment of his start at Chiefs since joining the club at the beginning of the season from Zesco United in Zambia. The Zambian international explained in an interview that he preferred to play in the number 9 position as the target man up front.

Middendorp advised Kambole to use the right platforms to give his input on how the team can get the best out of him as a striker.

“I haven’t heard [from Kambole about where he prefers to play], he probably hasn’t been with us for too long but if you have wishes… when I have wishes I talk to my wife or somebody that I have to direct it to, therefore it is not even for me to comment on the wishes or whatever.

“We play as a team, as a unit in attacking in defence we contribute and that’s it.”
