Arthur Zwane’s future at Kaizer Chiefs is safe, at least for now, according to club spokesman Vina Maphosa.

The Amakhosi coach needed medical attention last weekend after fans attacked him and threw missiles at him, demanding his immediate exit.
This was after Chiefs fell to their fourth defeat in five games, ending their hopes of finishing third in the DStv Premiership.
Zwane was left with a cut under an eye but Maphosa has explained that it was not from any of the objects thrown at him by Chiefs fans at Royal Sports Palace on Saturday.
“What was shown in the media is not true, the coach wasn’t bloodied at all,” Zwane told Thabiso Mosia of Radio 2000 on Monday evening.
“I can (however) confirm that the coach was injured after the game. He was hurt in the eye and received medical attention.
“He was not hit by the objects thrown by the fans but was injured by the shield of the police who was trying to protect him,” explained Maphosa.
There have also been rumours that Zwane will be given leave and will not be at FNB Stadium when Chiefs host Cape Town City in their last game of the season on Saturday.
Maphosa however said the coach should be fit enough to be on the bench for Saturday’s fixture.
Chiefs invested a lot on Zwane
The Chiefs communications man also revealed that the main perpetrators of last weekend’s vicious and unsporting acts have been identified.
“The coach is recovering well and should be on the bench against City in our last game.
“Even though he wasn’t hit by the objects, we have been able to identify three plain clothed supporters who threw the objects.
“This behaviour is embarrassing because we pride ourselves on Love and Peace,” added Maphosa.

On Zwane’s job, Maphosa said: “We’re not contemplating changing the coach. We will not act on emotions but technical aspects.
“There has been a lot of investment in coach Zwane and he remains the coach of Kaizer Chiefs.
“We’re not going to act out of emotion. All movements of players will be made after doing a review of the season.
“It is interesting where the story comes from. At this point Arthur Zwane remains coach of Kaizer Chiefs and we’re not contemplating changing the coach.”
