Chiefs are rejuvenated – Komphela

A rejuvenated Kaizer Chiefs will take onto the field at Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday morning to face Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership match.

“The Fifa break break got us rejuvenated,” Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela said. “We had an opportunity to manage the team after having a bit of fixture congestion before the break,” he added.

Komphela’s side were embarrassed by Baroka who beat them 2-1 in their last match which caused some fracas on the stands as supporters called for the coached to be axed.

But Komphela believes the mistakes they have been making have been corrected ahead of two gigantic fixtures. Chiefs will also play Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon.

“We corrected the areas that needed attention. We fell short in set-plays in those matches. We also want to improve on keeping the shape as well as improving the conversion rate. We worked on all that and I thought we sampled some tactics successfully in the Macufe Cup friendly.”
