Chiefs aim to bring down Arrows

Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns with Lamontville Golden Arrows in an Absa Premiership match at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.


Amakhosi are coming off their second league victory of the season as they defeated Maritzburg 2-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.

Gustavo Paez netted twice for the Soweto giants, who are undefeated in their last three league matches. They have recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat.

An improving Chiefs side is now placed fourth on the league standings with eight points from five matches. They are three behind log leaders Arrows.

Meanwhile, Arrows maintained their good start in the league when they defeated Platinum Stars 1-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday.

Kudakwashe Mahachi’s late goal extended Abafana Bes’thende’s winning streak to three matches in the Premiership. They have registered two draws and three wins.

Undefeated Arrows are placed at the top of the league standings with 11 points from five matches. They are ahead of second-placed Baroka FC on goal difference.
