Mobara struggled to get regular game time at Pirates since joining them from Ajax Cape Town in 2016.
Last season he made just eight appearances in all competitions for the Buccaneers.
The 25-year-old will be hoping to feature regularly in McCarthy’s side next season in order to regain his place in the Bafana Bafana set-up.
