Morris joins Benni McCarthy’s side from National First Division outfit Ajax Cape Town.
The striker has agreed to a three-year deal with the Citizens and is the club’s third striker after Siphelele Mthembu and Kermit Erasmus.
Morris stayed at Ajax when the club was relegated in the 2017/2018 campaign and played in the NFD for one season before returning to the top tier by joining Cape Town City.
City sold Judas Moseamedi to Maritzburg United last week and needed another striker to bolster their striking department.
“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of 25-year-old South African striker Tashreeq Morris from NFD side Ajax. Morris signs a 3 year deal with the club, bolstering the strikeforce with Mthembu and Erasmus,” read a tweet from Cape Town City confirming the player’s move.
