Chiefs played to a 2-2 draw with SuperSport United last weekend.
Amakhosi took the lead twice in the game, but let Matsatsantsa come back into the game.
“We needed this win badly,” said the defender. “After the loss in Cape Town last week, we went into this one with the aim of making a quick turnaround. We let ourselves down by letting SuperSport come back twice and also for not converting our opportunities.”
The former Mamelodi Sundowns player was voted Man-of-the-Match in the game that saw him provide an assist for Siphiwe Tshabalala.
Mphahlele was happy for his efforts to be recognised, but insists that they will have to win their next games.
“I’m happy to make a contribution; we will go back to the training ground to fix our mistakes. We can’t give up. We will keep working as a team to win the next matches,” he added.
“It’s good to be recognised, but what’s an individual award when the team is not collecting maximum points? We will regroup though and fix our mistakes before the next game,” concluded Rama.
Amakhosi are currently fourth on the league table with 46 points, file points behind log leaders Bidvest Wits. Chiefs will be looking to close the gap when they host Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
