Caf nominee wants to leave a legacy

Furman has been an instrumental figure in Matsatsantsa a Pitori’s impressive run in the Confederation Cup where they have booked themselves a spot in the final against defending champions TP Mazembe, whom they will be hoping to dethrone when they meet in a two legs final this month.

“We are delighted to have reached the final, we want to go all the way. We are happy with what we have done and we certainly want more,” Furman told Phakaaathi.

“We hear a lot about the three-in-a-row league titles that the club has won (between 2007-2010) but now I belief that we are creating our own legacy by going for that Confederation Cup trophy. We want to be spoken of for years to come,” added Furman, who has been nominated alongside Mamelodi Sundowns’ Denis Onyango and Percy Tau for the Africa-based Caf Player-of-the-Year award.

“We want our supporters and the rest of the country to talk about how successful this team was and this is an opportunity to become special. We want to be a big team, not only here at home but in the continent as well,” Furman added.

SuperSport will enjoy a break this weekend as they will play no further part in the Telkom Knockout after they were dumped by Bloemfontein Celtic.
