Buckle up, Pitso warns Sundowns supporters

Mosimane was in a prophetic mode when he revealed he anticipated a dip in form for his Sundowns side that had lost three of their six Absa Premiership matches so far.

“It is a bit difficult for Sundowns, and I was telling the players, and the message must also go to our supporters that they must buckle up this year. I foresee a little bit of turbulence along the way … I foresee a dip,” ‘Jingles’ told reporters as he prepares his side for Sunday’s clash against Chippa United in the Telkom Knockout last 16 in Mdantsane.

“It is going to be tough, we haven’t stabilised the team. This year we have been having a lot of injuries.

“I haven’t found my starting 11 properly. This one goes out, this one comes in. We can say we have enough numbers to rotate the team, but rotating the team creates instability. The players that you bring in can be good, but you need to find the rhythm,” said Mosimane.

He continued: “We must also be grateful to what has happened to us for the last two years, it has been good, it has been a honeymoon for us, we have done very well, and it was tough playing Champions League three years in a row, no rest, no off-season, and these are some of the things that I consider.”

“I look at Orlando Pirates, and they haven’t been back since the Champions League and Confederation Cup finals, we are yet to see them back to be honest,” he concluded.
