Brockie not anxious about lack of goals

The New Zealand born 30-year-old is yet to score in Sundowns colours despite making a name for himself while at SuperSport United.

“I am not worried about not scoring yet,” he was quoted as saying on Tuesday morning in Isolezwe. “Scoring can sometimes depend on luck. I hit the upright and some are saved by the keepers but I am not anxious because the team is doing well. The goals will come,” he added.

He said he knows that once he scores one, he will have turned the corner and start scoring regularly. “I need just one goal after that everything will fall into place. That is why I am not anxious as yet. If the team were not doing well and I kept missing chances I would be really worried. For now it is more about developing an understanding with my new teammates,” said Brockie.

The striker might be trusted with leading the Sundowns attacking line again when they meet ABC Motsepe League side EC Bees in a Nedbank Cup match t Loftus Versfeld on tonight.

“We will not be taking them lightly. In fact we have to double our efforts because if we don’t we might find ourselves in trouble. We have seen it quite often where small teams have upset the big guns in this competition,” said Brockie.
